
School of Environmental and Life Sciences (環境與生命學院)
About (現況)
The School of Environmental and Life Sciences, found in 2002, has now four departments, and confers 4 bachelor science degree (BSc) and 2 master science degree (MSc) programs:
★ Department of Environmental Engineering and Sciences (BSc and MSc)
★ Department of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science (BSc)
★ Department of Occupational Safety and Health (BSc)
★ Department of Biotechnology (BSc and MSc)
Each department in the School has close contacts with industry and provides highly interdisciplinary curricula for students. Some of the faculty members are consulted on specialist’s problems in industry and serve on government advisory committees. There are now 52 full-time academic staffs, along with 83% of PhD, in the School. Many of research teams around cross-field themes have been organized by the faculty members from different departments of the School. The school also pursues a long term university-industry cooperation that enhances the future career prospects for students.
Vision (願景)
Developing green technology and pursuing the goals of sustainable development to improve the human welfare and well-being are always the core concept of education in our school. We will create, integrate, and transform fundamental understanding of environmental and life processes. Through the participant motivation of the knowledge, students are able to have a professional development in the fields of life sciences, environmental technologies and related areas.
